Donate the proceeds of your recycling at local Return-It Depots

VISAS has an account set up for Express Deposits at the Return It depots in both Courtenay and Comox. 

At the Courtenay Return-It Depot, follow these instructions: 

1. Put all cans and bottles into a transparent plastic bag (clear or blue) and tie it up,
2. Print off a label using the machine in the far right corner of the main lobby. Use the code: PWOV,
3. Stick the label on the bag,
4. Drop the bag in the Express Return-It window and walk away.

At the Comox Mall Return-It centre, follow these instructions: 

1. Put all cans and bottles into a transparent plastic bag (clear or blue) and tie it up,
2. At the Comox Mall, the label machine is in the lobby of the mall between Hugh’s Independent Grocer and Rexall. Enter VISAS phone number to access the account: 250-334-5755. Print off a label to stick on the bag,
3. Bring the labelled bag to the Express Return-It sea can in the mall parking lot, 4. Text the code 1DOP (note that ‘O’ is not a zero) to the following number: 778-400-5253,
4. You will get an automated text response with an access number that you use to open the sea can. Enter the access code on the keypad,
5. Open the door, put the bag into the sea can, close the door and walk away.

If you do not want to use the Express in Courtenay, you can go to the desk and tell them to donate the proceeds to Vancouver Island Society for Adaptive Snowsports or use our phone number. If anyone can think of or knows of any businesses that would donate their refundables to VISAS on an ongoing basis, that would be great!
